Reception Admissions

Bishop Gilpin is a two-form entry primary school admitting 60 children to Reception each year. We hold an open day for prospective parents to learn about the school and have a guided tour by our children during the Autumn Term each year.

Applications are made during the Autumn Term prior to your child entering primary school (Reception) at rising five years old through your home borough on the Common Application Form. For more information visit the London Borough of Merton website or email admissions@merton.gov.uk.

Bishop Gilpin has up to 30 places per year in the Reception year available to Foundation (church) applicants (for further information about the criteria for Foundation applicants please see the school’s Admissions Policy, below). Families wishing to apply for a Foundation place will also need to complete a Supplementary Form during the application process. This will be available online or from our Admissions Officer from September 2018.

The timescales for the application process will be published on the London Borough of Merton’s website from September 2018.

Admissions criteria are always set well in advance of the application deadline and are published on our website, Merton’s website and can be obtained from the school office.
