4Rs and Growth Mindset
The 4Rs are allowing us to develop a common language for learning across the school. The language is used in all classrooms, with all children.
The 4Rs: Resilience, Reflectiveness, Reciprocity, Resourcefulness
This shared language helps everyone to understand ‘learning to learn’ which is also known as meta-cognition.
We now know that this understanding has begun to spill over into life outside school, where parents and carers are able to reinforce the ideas by encouraging the children to use their learning language in their everyday lives. Often it is also a case of the children encouraging their parents/carers to use the language and approaches.
