Partnership with parents and carers
At Bishop Gilpin, we believe that children can be most successful if school and parents/carers work collaboratively and supportively together.
At Bishop Gilpin, we believe it’s important to:
- Work in partnership with parents and carers to support their child in letting their light shine
- Create a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for pupils, staff and parents/carers
- Promote open communication between the school and parents/carers as it has a positive impact on pupils’ learning
- Give parents/carers the information they need to support their child’s education
- Gain feedback and consult with parents/carers in order to help our school improve
- Model appropriate behaviour for our pupils at all times
- Build trust between home and school, which helps the school better support each child’s educational and pastoral needs
To help us do this, we set clear expectations and guidelines on communication and behaviour for all members of our community. This includes staff (through the staff code of conduct) and pupils (through our Relationships & Behaviour policy).
This Communication & Conduct Policy aims to help the school work in partnership with parents/carers by setting guidelines on appropriate methods of communication and behaviour.
In accepting a place at Bishop Gilpin, you agree to adhere ot out Home School Agreement which can be found in Appendix 1 in our Communication & Conduct Policy.
