Bishop Gilpin Primary School has strong bonds with both St Mary’s and St Mark’s churches within the Parish of Wimbledon.  A number of our families attend our linked churches.  

Revd Mandy Hodgson, Rector of the Wimbledon Team Ministry and Vicar of St Mary's Church, is an active member of both our governing body and our Faith Group chair.  Mandy also leads collective worship with our children in school, including special services such as Ash Wednesday. Termly Eucharists are held at St Mary’s, St Marks and at school and are led by Mandy or Jane with significant input from our children.  

Revd Jane Andrews, Vicar of St Mark's Church is an active member of our Faith Group at Bishop Gilpin and is also a member of the governing body.  Jane also leads collective worship for our children in school and at St Mark’s in the same structure as Mandy. Special events, including the hugely popular annual Carol Service, are held at St Mark’s and often Mandy and Jane will share roles within the service. 

Having the opportunity to worship/learn from two different Anglican churches and leaders is of great benefit to our children and staff.

Both Mandy and Jane use their Christian values to help guide and support decisions made by the school in line with ethical leadership. 

Paula Thorvaldsen, Pastoral Minister at St Mark's Church, also leads collective worship and joins the ministry team in active roles on the school Faith Group.  She also supports RE days held at school and other special events.
